Sara’s Commercial Layer Cages are engineered with precision to maximize egg production, bird comfort, and long-lasting durability. Built on a strong laminated frame, these cages provide stability, high stocking density, and reduced mortality, while efficient feed management reduces both land and operational costs. Standard cage sizes are 24" wide × 20" deep × 18"/21" high, available in 2 to 8 tiers with or without catwalk systems, with custom sizes available upon request. Full-width sliding doors provide easy access and visibility, while wire mesh or solid steel dividers allow flexible configurations. The galvanized-after-weld 12-gauge mesh floors feature a unique walking support system that reduces leg and foot injuries while improving egg quality, resulting in higher saleable output. All steel components are made from 275 GSM galvanized steel, with optional trough-mounted step rails or bird cart guides for added convenience. Combining robust design, advanced automation, and bird-friendly features, the PROD EGGS™ system ensures safe, efficient, and cost-effective egg production for modern farms.
The automatic feeding system is designed for fast, uniform, and efficient feed distribution with minimal labor and maintenance. Constructed from high-quality galvanized steel hoppers and precision troughs, it prevents bridging, contamination, and wastage while conserving feed as birds mature. A trolley feeding system mixes feed evenly in the hopper and distributes it uniformly across tiers, driven by a high-performance gear motor with mobile levelers and adjustable sliders for precise control. Safety features, including automatic stop-limit switches, ensure reliable operation and protect equipment. By reducing waste, saving energy, and promoting uniform flock growth, the feeding system improves overall egg production and farm efficiency.
The manure belt drive units are built with 3 mm galvanized steel frames and shipped pre-assembled for easy installation. Curtains guide waste directly into the cross conveyor, while a 1 mm UHMWPE belt securely collects and transports manure from every tier. Designed for long rows up to 400 feet, the low-tension drive system reduces belt strain and ensures smooth operation at 15 feet per minute with minimal motors and gearboxes. Extra-wide manure rails prevent contamination of lower cages and feed troughs, while the idler end incorporates an auger cleaner system that automatically removes dirt and feathers between belts—ensuring a cleaner, healthier housing environment.
The egg collection system ensures smooth, hygienic, and efficient egg handling. 96 mm woven polypropylene belts transport eggs at up to 9 feet per minute, powered by a 4.5" polyurethane roller with pinch roller for slip-free operation. Factory-assembled elevators transfer eggs onto short PVC conveyors that gently deposit them one by one onto cradles, eliminating dosing and reducing breakages. The open design ensures that soft-shelled or dirty eggs fall through onto collection trays, improving hygiene and egg quality. With adjustable unloading heights, the system easily integrates with overhead conveyors, floor conveyors, or end-of-row hand-packing tables for maximum flexibility.
The egg conveyor system is built for flexibility and gentle handling in multi-tier operations. Designed with infinite width and height options, it collects eggs from cages and delivers them directly to storage. PVC transfer rods and precision-engineered transfer parts ensure damage-free handling, while variable speed controls allow convenient adjustments. Available in 18" or 20" widths, the conveyor can be configured as straight or curved (up to 180° continuous), with incline/decline angles of 0–22.5°. It can be installed at floor, ceiling, or intermediate heights, with optional intermediate drive units for longer runs.
The egg protector system reduces cracks and breakages by gently slowing eggs as they roll from the cage floor to the longitudinal belt. A thin wire positioned parallel to the belt cushions the transfer, adjustable either pneumatically or manually at the start of collection. This simple yet effective feature enhances egg safety and ensures better overall quality.
